Georgia Criminal Defense AttorneyKathryn Boortz
After graduating in 2001, Ms. Boortz went on to pursue a law degree at the University of Georgia's School of Law in Athens. During law school, she participated in numerous clinical programs, including the Legal Aid and Defender Clinic. She also assisted a law professor in the creation of Diakonia Legal Clinic and coached a Middle School Mock Trial team. Ms. Boortz graduated from law school in 2004 and was honored as the recipient of a Public Interest Fellowship. After law school, Ms. Boortz elected to serve in the public sector as an Assistant Public Defender for the Metro Conflict Defender's office in Fulton County. She gained extensive courtroom experience and handled a variety of felony cases from drug to homicide cases. Ms. Boortz is an excellent trial lawyer. She continues to get favorable outcomes for her clients. "I will work to the bitter end to get what I think is the best result for my clients" explains Ms. Boortz. Ms. Boortz is a member of the Georgia bar and is also involved in the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. In her free time, Ms. Boortz enjoys being a member of the Junior League of Atlanta where she volunteers with the Families First organization.
