Sex Crimes – Georgia man charged with child molestation of teen

Sex Crimes – A grand jury recently indicted a 22-year-old man. The man was accused of child molestation of a 15-year-old girl. Nevertheless, all Georgia defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proved guilty of the crimes of which they have been accused.

The man was charged with a number of sex crimes, including rape. According to reports, the man allegedly molested a teenage girl back in December of last year. The sexual contact between him and the teen reportedly happened when he was 21 years of age.

Authorities arrested him on a recent Saturday. Under the indictment, he was accused of engaging in sexual contact with a minor with at least a five year age difference, but no more than 10 years. He was sent to a county jail on a $20,000 bond. His charges include rape and statutory rape. No other information about this case has been reported.

Defendants who are charged with child molestation or any other sex crime have significant battles in front of them. Georgia defendants have the right to be heard in front of an impartial jury and dispute any evidence presented against them in a criminal courtroom. Furthermore, state prosecutors will need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant committed child molestation in order to secure a conviction. Gaining more knowledge about his legal rights can potentially increase the chances of achieving a favorable result. Just because a defendant has been charged with a crime does not automatically mean they are guilty, and this individual will have ever reasonable opportunity to seek a result that is in his individual best interests.
